Birmingham was hit by heavy snowfall today, leading to the closure of 30 schools. Some schools took time to make the decision, causing frustration among parents who complained that they were informed late and had to send their kids back home in the middle of heavy snow. Snowfall was reported across the city.

According to Metoffice, the snow gradually cleared through the morning, leaving a drier and brighter afternoon. However, there is still a possibility of odd snow flurries. The day remained chilly, particularly in the breeze, with a maximum temperature of 4°C.

Tonight, the skies will be clear, leading to a sharp drop in temperature and icy stretches likely. The minimum temperature is expected to be -3°C, and there will be light winds.
