Man Arrested on Suspicion of Rape Following Perry Barr Assault

Police have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of rape after a woman was attacked near the One Stop Shopping Centre in Perry Barr late Saturday night.

Authorities were first notified of the assault on Walsall Road at approximately 1:50 a.m. Shortly after responding to the initial call, officers received a second report of another woman being assaulted on Aldridge Road near Holford Drive.

Detectives are currently investigating whether the two incidents are related. The suspect was apprehended early this morning at an address in the Birmingham area.

Birmingham Police are urging anyone with information about either incident to come forward. They are particularly seeking any dashcam or mobile phone footage that may have captured the events. In addition to requesting public assistance, the police reiterated their support for victims of sexual assault.
