Police are investigating after two people reportedly sustained injuries during a fight on Ashmole Road, West Bromwich yesterday afternoon (3 August).

Officers were called just before 6.40pm to reports of people fighting in the street armed with knives. Both people involved fled the scene before officers arrived.

A 15-year-old boy called an ambulance from Waterside Street a short time later and was taken to hospital with an injury to his neck.

The second person has not been found and we’re appealing for anyone with information to get in touch. We know that he ran away from the scene covered in blood, and it’s likely that he sustained a slash or stab-type injury.

If you have any information or were in the area and saw anything suspicious, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

Ashmole Close was cordoned off last night and sniffer dogs were sent to the area to help look for evidence. The cordon has now been lifted but officers are still in the local area carrying out enquires.
