A suspected drug dealer had a spot of toilet trouble when Police raided a flat this morning and found more than 500 wraps of suspicious powder in the loo.

Officers executed a warrant at the flat in Camden Street, in the Upper Stoke area of Coventry, at 7.30am this morning (14 Jan).

Officers arrested a man and woman before discovering a stash of what’s believed to be crack cocaine and heroin in the toilet bowl.

It’s suspected the pair made a dash to the bathroom as our officers moved in but failed in their bid to flush away potentially vital evidence.

A man aged 23 and a 19-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply. They remain in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Tony Ashton said: “We’ll be sending the powder away for a forensic examination but it’s strongly suspected to be Class A drugs.

“If so, this is a significant quantity we’ve recovered plus we also seized around £2,000 in cash from the address.

“The man has claimed to be a student at a University in Nottingham. I think he’s got some explaining to do.”

Anyone who suspects someone or a property is linked to drug dealing or crime is asked to get in touch so we can take action.
