Two men have been arrested following a fatal collision on Stratford Road, Hall Green, last night.

Emergency services were called shortly before 7:15 pm to a crash involving a BMW and a Honda. The driver of the Honda, a man in his 50s, was found with serious injuries. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

The occupants of the BMW fled the scene, prompting a police investigation. Later in the evening, two men voluntarily presented themselves at a police station. Both were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A 19-year-old suspect has been taken to the hospital for health checks, while an 18-year-old remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
