A man and a woman have been arrested after the discovery of a suspected chop shop.

Police were called to search an address in Kingsbury Road, Stockland Green, after colleagues from Northamptonshire Police stopped the two in a suspected stolen car.

Officers found a significant amount of suspected stolen car parts and A number of stolen high-performance vehicles.

The man and woman, aged 40 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

PC Joseph Gigli from our Vehicle Crime Team said: “This is a substantial find and enquiries are ongoing to establish the identifications of the vehicles and parts found at the address.

“Vehicle crime is a force priority for West Midlands Police, and we are committed to disrupting vehicle crime in our areas and bringing offenders who play a part in it to justice.”

There are many legitimate salvage yards operating in the West Midlands, but we know there are also chop shops out there.

These can be set up in industrial units, garage/mechanic premises or even in someone’s back garden.
