Two more charged in Birmingham city centre attack

Police have charged a further two people in relation to an assault on Corporation Street in Birmingham city centre last month.

Officers appealed for information after releasing the footage of a man being continually attacked as he cowered on the floor at around 6pm on Sunday 28 June. The 40-year-old man had been robbed of his wallet and keys and left with nasty head injuries.

Jermaine Williams, of Miranda Close in Rubery was charged with assault and robbery last week. The 30-year-old has been bailed with conditions before his appearance at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday 5 August, having already appeared before Birmingham magistrates.

Kristian Haines, aged 27 and of Uplands Road in Handsworth, was charged with assault and has been bailed with conditions to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday 6 August, following his appearance at Birmingham Magistrates Court last week.

Previously, 19-year-old Ayham Yafai of no fixed address, was charged with assault and bailed after his appearance at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday 2 July. He is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court next month.

Police are continuing to appeal for information and would urge anyone with information to come forward.
