Police need your help after a violent carjacking of a man and his pregnant wife in Kings Norton was captured on video.

Four men arrived outside the couple’s home in the Moneyhull Grange area of Kings Norton, in a white Renault Clio as the victim stood next to his VW Golf R estate. The 44-year-old man was punched and kicked, so handed over the car keys before falling to the floor where he was kicked in the head.

His wife was ordered out of the car, and two of the attackers got in and drove off. A third got into the Clio which was then driven away by a fourth man, in convoy with the VW.

The man was taken to hospital where he was found to be covered in bruises, with a laceration to his head, a broken finger, and a laceration to his ear, which needed multiple stitches.

His wife, aged 39, was not harmed, but was left with high blood pressure which was assessed by medics given her pregnancy. The robbery happened at around 2.40pm on 28 May.

Investigator Jamie Bunting, from force CID, said: “This was an appalling attack on a pregnant woman and her husband, using an extreme level of violence. “The couple have asked us to release this CCTV, while we’re conscious it is shocking, we hope it will help us identify those responsible. “If you witnessed what happened or know who these people are, do the right thing and get in touch with us. “We’ve already spoken to several witnesses, but there would have been lots of people out on walks at the time of the offence. We would like to hear from people who may have seen the cars at around this time, or who may have CCTV that we have not yet recovered.”

No arrests have yet been made. Neither the Clio, which had cloned plates reading YT64 VSX and a distinctive panoramic sunroof, or the VW, registration VA16 LFJ, have been found. We have issued descriptions of the four men.

One was Asian, aged 18-21, brown eyes, medium build and around 5ft 10ins tall. He wore a navy Nike hoodie, Adidas black tracksuit bottoms, dark coloured trainers and black gloves.

The second was white, aged 18-25, of medium build, 5ft 10ins tall. He wore a black Armani hoodie, black jeans and reflective trainers.

The third man wore a black hoodie, grey joggers and black trainers. The driver of the Clio wore a blue puffa jacket.
