“Alumrock Community Launches Campaign for Car Park, Urging Birmingham City Council to Take Action”

Alumrock, known for its vibrant shopping and food scene, has become a cultural hub for the Pakistani and other communities. However, the bustling shopping center is facing a pressing issue: the lack of parking spaces. In response, Alumrock Traders Association have initiated a campaign to address this problem.

The renowned Pakistani radio presenter, Ikram Mirza, expressed the difficulties faced by shoppers in Alumrock Road, where fines for parking violations are a daily occurrence. Mirza emphasized that it is high time to provide a solution instead of burdening people with parking tickets, especially considering the ongoing cost of living crisis that affects both individuals and businesses. A multistory car park on the vacant land along Adderley Road at Salty Gate has been proposed as a viable solution that would significantly boost business activities on Alumrock Road.

Backing the campaign, Wasim Yousaf revealed staggering statistics, stating that the Birmingham City Council issued a staggering £5.4million parking tickets.. Yousaf stressed that the community demands the city council take immediate action by constructing a car park on the empty piece of land that has remained unused for two decades along Adderley Road.

The Alumrock community’s plea for a car park aims to alleviate the parking challenges faced by shoppers and enhance the business environment in the area. It now awaits the response and action from the Birmingham City Council to address this pressing concern.
