Detectives investigating a collision in Handsworth that left a woman with serious injuries continue to appeal for information.

Police were called to Wye Cliff Road on Monday 9 March after a woman was run over by a car when she collapsed shortly before 10.40pm.

The 35-year-old suffered serious spinal injuries and is recovering in hospital with life-changing injuries.

The driver of the car failed to stop and detectives have now released images of the vehicle we believe was involved.

These pictures of the old style Mazda 3, 2003-2009 model were taken months before the collision and Police are still appealing to trace the driver and the vehicle.

There is damage to the back wheel arch and the front registration plate on the car is located off centre to the left of the front bumper, which is not common on this model of vehicle. So we are appealing for anyone who recognises this description or particular feature to contact us.

We are also appealing to any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.
