A crook is heading back to prison after our officers spotted him acting shadily in the early hours of this morning – and tried to give false details including a 31 September birth date!

Officers were on burglary patrols in Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton, just after midnight (5 May) when they saw a man who appeared suspicious.
They stopped to ask what he was doing out late at night during the Covid-19 public health restrictions.

He tried giving the two PCs false details… but mistakenly claimed his date of birth was 31 September 1989.

Checks on mobile police systems revealed the man’s true identity and why he was so keen to protect his personal details. The 31-year-old, who has convictions for possessing a knife and shoplifting, was wanted on a recall to jail… and that’s precisely where he’s heading today.
