Pair charged over armed disorder in Birmingham street

Police have charged two men in connection with a serious disorder in Birmingham yesterday (26 Jan) in which a firearm and large combat knife were brandished.

Our officers responded to reports of trouble in Washwood Heath Road shortly before 11am and our armed police later arrested three men.

David Constantin, aged 19, has now been charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place with intent to cause fear of violence.

And 27-year-old Bocioug Scarlat has been charged with threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place.

A third man, aged 28, has been released under investigation while inquiries progress.

Both men – who are from Washwood Heath Road – have been remanded in custody and are set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow.
