Further arrest in Karl Gallagher murder inquiry

Detectives investigating the murder of Karl Gallagher at the West Cross Shopping Centre in Smethwick last weekend have arrested another man in connection with his death.

A 23-year-old was arrested from his home address this morning on suspicion of murder and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.Father-of-one, Karl died from a single stab wound following an altercation last Sunday (26 April).

Tyrell Harris, 19, of Helvellyn Way, West Bromwich, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court yesterday (30 April) charged with murder. He was remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court today where he was further remanded to appear again in June.

Three other men arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail while the investigation continues. Three men arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released pending investigation, as has a man arrested on suspicion of obstructing police.
