Police are appealing for information after shots were fired on King Edward Road in Birmingham shortly after 5pm yesterday (27 May).

Police believe a car turned into the road, when the occupant starting firing shots at a second car. While trying to escape from the shooting, the car collided with a cyclist on Summer Hill Road. The driver of the second car fled the scene but was located nearby and arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He has been released while enquiries continue. The cyclist was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, which are not believed to be serious.

Detective Sergeant Phil Hinton, from force CID, said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation, and are working to piece together exactly what happened. “If anyone was in the area the time and heard shots being fired or the subsequent collision, or if you have any dash cam footage, we want to hear from you.”
