Police update following Washwood Heath Road disorder

Police were called to reports of a disorder on Washwood Heath Road, Birmingham shortly before 11am today (26 January).

Three men, two of which were shirtless, fled the scene and were arrested on Newhall Street shortly after by our armed police.

The men – aged 28, 19 and 27 – have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. They remain in custody for questioning.

Officers have seized two blank firing pistols and some blank firing rounds.

Police investigations are in the early stages to establish the circumstances of this incident and it is not believed anyone was seriously injured in the disorder.
