Officers were called to the junction of Cranes Park Road and Warmington Road at about 2.50pm yesterday (31 May).

A 27-year-old man suffered serious injuries and despite the best efforts of medical staff he sadly died at the scene.

The man was riding a Triumph Speedmaster motorcycle and is understood to have fallen off the bike which then struck an Audi car.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A young man has tragically lost his life and his family are naturally devastated. We have specialist officers supporting them at this difficult time.

“I am urgently appealing for anyone with information who hasn’t already spoken to us to make contact. I am particularly keen to hear from anybody who witnessed the collision or saw the bike just beforehand, and in particular may have CCTV or dashcam footage.”
